OSU Health Plan has much news to share with you about the university’s medical plans and programs for 2012.
Deductible and Co-insurance Information
Beginning January 1, 2012, OSU Medical Plan changes include more services with deductibles and
- Prime Care Advantage: There will now be a deductible of $100 individual/$300 family and most services will have a 10%
co-insurance . Emergency room, urgent care, and office visits will still have aco-payment , which under this plan, are not subject to the deductible. - Prime Advantage Value: The deductible will now be a $300 individual/$900 family. Most services will have a 20%
co-insurance . - Independent Choice: The deductible and out-of-pocket maximum is changing.

Ohio State Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The Ohio State EAP offers life assistance for faculty, staff, and their families. No challenge is too serious or too simple. The expanded program offers benefits-eligible faculty and staff – and their family members – many complimentary, confidential services, including live phone support with a licensed professional, 24/7/365. Care Coordination Program
Life is tough enough. When living with a chronic condition – such as asthma, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or heart disease – feeling one’s best can be even more challenging.That’s why the university offers the Care Coordination Program to faculty, staff, and family members who are enrolled in a university medical plan. Personal Health Coaching Program
Motivation is the key to winning in the Personal Health Coaching Program. The program is designed to help one achieve their health and wellness goals with the help of personal health coaches who possess a range of clinical backgrounds including exercise, physiologists, dietitians, health educators and tobacco cessation specialists. Ohio PPO Connect
OSU Health Plan is pleased to announce it has joined three other provider owned regional networks to form a statewide network called Ohio PPO Connect. This new network will be available beginning January 1, 2012. Ohio PPO Connect brings together the strength and expertise of the following regionally-operated, provider-owned networks:
- OSU Health Plan, based in Columbus
- HealthSpan, based in Cincinnati
- Quality Care Partners, based in Zanesville
- Ohio Health Choice, based in Akron
